When struggling songwriter Dave Seveille ("My Name Is Earl"' star Jason Lee) opens his home to a talented trio of chipmunks named Alvin, Simon, and Theodore, they quickly become overnight music sensations. But when a greedy record producer tries to exploit the ensemble, Dave must use his ingenuity and some 'munk mischief to get his furry friends back.

The trailer may seem cruder than you would have expected, but worry not, because Alvin and the Chipmunks is actually a really good flick. The appeal of the singing Chipmunks is still there, 50 years later, and the animation works well with the music. Jason Lee is always fun to watch and for once, the story doesn't just involve random emo stuff - just fun.
